Boosting Investment for Sustainable Jobs in Ghana

THE GHANA – EU FORUM

The Ghana-EU Business Forum aims primarily at presenting to Ghanaian and European entrepreneurs the broad portfolio of Guarantees available to investors and promoters and offered by the main national financial institutions in the EU and international development banks, upon a financial support by the European Union under the EU External Investment Plan (EIP).

The objective of those guarantees is to attract financing for equity, and to cope with some of the recurrent risks in Sub-Saharan Africa markets so to leverage private capital and decrease its inherent cost.

The EIP focuses on a number of priority areas, among which the following have been selected as particularly relevant for the Ghanaian business context:

Sustainable energy and sustainable connectivity;

Micro, small and medium enterprises financing; and

Sustainable agriculture, rural entrepreneurs and agroindustry.

Such approach is in line with Government of Ghana’s agenda of boosting private sector investment, creation of decent and sustainable jobs, and promoting the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda. Therefore a few flagship programs conceived to boost private investment in Ghana will be also presented.

The Forum will also offer the possibility:

interact with representatives of International and Local Financial Institutions, Business Associations, and Regulators and to identify new business and financing opportunities

to share your experiences on doing Business in Ghana and voice your expectations for reforms and incentives

The Forum sessions will be enriched by the presence of European and Ghanaian exhibitors and Chambers of Commerce, which will showcase their business through the Ghana-EU Business Fair, and have the possibility to pursue Business to Business (B2B) opportunities with meetings and matchings offered throughout the two days of the event, on the same premises of the Forum.

Therefore should you be interested to attend the key-note sessions, the interactive sessions, the sessions with the major International Financial Institutions, be interested to attend the Business Fair as an exhibitor, or look for Business to Business interactions, you are welcome to process with your registration.

We wish you a fruitful participation!
